The Vienna Cryptoeconomics Institute & the Regional Center of Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development (RCE), of the Vienna University of Economics are launching the [UN]BLOCKED initiative. [UN]BLOCKED is a multi-stakeholder initiative focusing on how blockchain and Web3 technologies could help us reach the United Nations (UN) Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). [UN]BLOCKED aims to map potential use cases, global players and initiatives. The goal would be to outline potential pilot projects and develop their implementation.
Programming a Sustainable World
A highlight of the [UN]BLOCKED initiative would be a conference on April 1-2 2019 where the aim would be to bring together all interested stakeholders in this field. The first stage of the project is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) which includes the conference and a whitepaper outlining blockchain’s potential to help meet the SDGs and define potential pilot projects that make sense in the context of the SDGs.
