I have always cared deeply about the environment, but really gained insights on environmental economics and the problems society is faced with at the university. As the economies grow and the use of natural resources is not likely to decrease, I turned to the technology to see if a solution could be found. Revolutionary ideas, just like blockchain, were real “eye-openers” to me, in a sense that the society might not need to change its behaviour, but apply new technologies. The greatest potential lies in lifting people out of poverty by employing blockchain (e.g. farmers would not be forced to sell goods below the market price) and giving developing countries a better chance to take part in global markets.
